The WAC Community Garden embodies our mission to partner with diverse and inclusive well-being initiatives that support the personal health, wellness, and professional development of medical students. By creating a shared green space, the garden promotes physical and mental well-being through opportunities for stress relief, mindfulness, and connection with nature. It also fosters community by bringing together students, faculty, and staff to collaborate toward a common goal of growing fresh produce and cultivating meaningful relationships.
Through the Environmental Domain, the Community Garden serves as a sustainable initiative that encourages environmental stewardship, healthy living, and education about sustainable food systems. By integrating environmentally friendly practices into student life, the garden provides a tangible way for members of the UMMSM community to engage with sustainability while supporting their own well-being and strengthening connections within the medical school community.
