The UM Sustainability Scholar Program is a collaboration between the Office of Sustainability, the Miami Herbert Business School, the Abess Center for Ecosystem Science and Policy, and the Department of Geography and Sustainable Development. The program’s goal is for students to further incorporate sustainability into their curriculum and cultivate leadership skills in promoting sustainability on campus and beyond. Students are encouraged to think critically about what economic, environmental, and social factors advance or inhibit long-term sustainability goals. Through each cohort of Sustainability Scholars, the Sustainability in the Curriculum Working Group hopes to generate leaders who will promote sustainable practices across disciplines for generations to come.
