Resilience 365 Conference

March 24-25

The Climate Resilience Institute will be hosting the Resilience 365 Conference from March 24-25, 2025. The conference will focus on three pillars of Financing Resilience Infrastructure, Fostering Healthy Communities and Driving Climate Tech and Innovation. This is a cornerstone event of the larger Miami Climate Week, a series of activities and events to catalyze climate resilience action and discussion.

Butterfly Garden 101

March 21, 5-6 pm

If you are interested in starting a Florida butterfly garden or attracting more butterflies to your existing garden, you will need plants that will provide nectar, water and shelter for every stage of a butterfly’s development. Learn about butterfly garden design with Master Gardeners from the MDC IFAS extension. Join us in room 250 of the Campos Sano Building.

Florida Solar 101

March 27, 12 pm

Learn about solar energy and its benefits for your home, or small business. Solar United Neighbors a nonprofit which is both installer and vendor neutral will take you through the technology, economics, financing, and more. You'll also learn about the solar co-op we launched. The co-op is free to join and members are not obligated to buy solar panels.

World Water Day

World Water Day is an annual United Nations (UN) observance day, which highlights the importance of water. The day is used to advocate for the sustainable management of water resources. Meet Green U, Rho Rho Rho, The Miami Dade Office of Resilience, and Miami Dade Water Conservation program to start saving water. Ocean Awareness Week

Come celebrate Ocean Awareness Week Fair by the Foote Green with Rho Rho Rho! Rho Rho Rho is the University of Miami's Marine and Atmospheric Honor Society. Their mission is to promote awareness and conservation of the marine and terrestrial environments.

Tote-Bag Painting with Debris Free Oceans

Pass by the ECO table at the Eaton residential college lobby. You will be invited to paint tote-bags and hear from a student representative from Debris Free Oceans, a non-profit focused on reducing plastic waste in our region. Giveaways and food will be served.

Farm to patient webinar

Thi Squire is the community garden manager and founder of the Grow2Heal program. Grow2Heal grow produces and vegetables for hospital patients and staff, and serve as a hands-on educational farm. Students and teachers from all over the region visit the farm regularly to learn where their food comes from.

Join the ECO Agency and the UM Miller Student Climate Committee at the Mangrove and Butterfly Garden restoration site located along the canal between the Miami Herbert Business School and the Student Services Building. EcoPathways: Navigating Careers in Climate & Sustainability

A panel of speakers from Miami Water Keeper have been invited to speak on insights about careers in the sustainability and climate sectors. The event will take place on April 15th from 6-8pm, at LOCATION TBD and will be open to all students. Snacks and refreshments will be served.

Pass by the ECO table at the Westbrook Walkway. ECO has invited SMASH at, a local ngo that advocates for affordable housing in Miami, educates the community about housing issues, and develops affordable housing units for low-income families via Community Land Trusts.

Arbor Day Celebration and Concert

April 18, 5 pm

The University has been recognized as a Tree Campus USA by the nationally renown organization Arbor Day Foundation for the tenth consecutive year! The program will start on April 18 at 5 pm with a tour of edible trees in the Arboretum guided by Dr. Feeley. At 6 pm, at the Arboretum Stone Circle,  don't miss the free concert from Frost School of Music artist Danny Rein and alum Keith JohnsFinger food will be served. Event sponsored by the Gifford Arboretum and ECO Agency (Gifford Arboretum Stone Circle: Cox Science Building, 1301 Memorial Dr, Coral Gables, FL 33146)

Dialogue for a Sustainable Future

April 22, 6.30 - 9 pm

The Lowe Art Museum invites you to a panel discussion between scientists from the UM Abess Center for Ecosystem Science and Policy and artists from the exhibit "Journey to Nature's Underworld". Mark Dion and Alexis Rockman are artists whose work probes our strained relationship with the environment. The event will be followed by an activation by Frost School of Music dancers.

Recycled Orchestra of Cateura

April 24, 5-9 pm

ECO Agency will host the internationally praised Recycled Orchestra of Cateura for an evening of music and conversation around waste diversion, social justice, and the power of community. Join us at the Lakeside Patio.


Food will be served and there will be opportunities to meet the members of the orchestra after the performance.

Come support our Baseball team vs FIU, and participate in our "Biscayne Bay Friendly" campaign on May 7 at 6 p.m. Visit our community partners tables to learn more about how to preserve our beautiful Biscayne Bay ecosystem.     The UM Environmental Law Society is inviting you to participate in this County Wide event. The 43rd Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 9 a.m. to noon. Bringing the community together to celebrate our incredible marine resources and enhance our Biscayne Bay Watershed through environmental stewardship, Baynanza 2025 will take place at over 30 locations across Miami-Dade County.  Register now
