Ainsley is the current chair of the environment and conservation organization (ECO) and is very excited for the next year. She is majoring in Chemistry with a minor in political science. I’m pursuing a major in Computer Science and am part of the Pre-Med Track.  I’m very excited for my journey as an ECO Agency Vice-Chair External and look forward to this school year!  prg57@miami.edu  My name is Megan Piller and I am incredibly excited to be serving as ECO Agency’s Vice-Chair Internal for this year! The following organizations are recruiting for the Fall 2022 semester

Founded in 2012, ECO Agency is the umbrella organization under Student Government that includes the committees: ECO Board, Food Recovery Network, Green Committee, ECO Reps, and the Green Organization Coalition (GOC). You have a project for UM to become more sustainable? Your idea could help us reduce our carbon footprint, our water footprint, enhance our recycling programs or start an educational campaign! Contact ECO Board, if your application qualifies, your project could be eligible for funding.

UThrift is UM's free on-campus thrift store that takes place every Wednesday at the Farmer's Market!

In this module you will learn about renewable energy, water conservation, and proper recycling in Miami Dade.

 

After viewing the video, please take this short survey. It will help you learn how to play your part at keeping our campus eco-friendly. To inquire about all the things you can do to make your campus more sustainable, reach out to Green U, our Office of Sustainability.

The local Miami nonprofit Debris Free Oceans is hiring for 2 positions

The first role is for the "Chef Andrew" Internship which is a six-month internship program that  seeks students that are passionate about engaging communities with education and outreach to address plastic pollution! The internship is a very flexible role as the students schedule the dates for their 2 monthly education presentations and hosted 1 cleanup each month. After completing the requirements the intern is eligible for a $1,500 stipend to help cover school costs. Find out more information and apply here!

The second role is a part-time position as our Events and Communications Coordinator. This role is responsible for executing DFO's events throughout the community and effectively communicating DFO's mission to the world through visual and written communication! This role focusing on event organizing, social media management, newsletter creation, and additional responsibilities outlined in the application. The position pays $15-$20 (depending on experience).
